Greetings!
The Plymouth 4thof July Parade needs your help! The parade needs volunteers to make it work and we would love it if you would join us in helping to show the patriotism and community enthusiasm that Plymouth has! We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:
- Banner Carriers – volunteers are needed to carry sponsorship banners the length of the parade. You must be physically able to carry one side of a 12’ banner for three miles.
- Costumed Characters – volunteers are needed to be costumed characters in the parade. We provide the costumes. We need more adults than children, as most costumes are sized for adults.
- Parade Marshals – adult volunteers are needed to help set-up divisions and keep the parade moving.
- Balloon carriers-for the first time in our parade, professional balloons will be used that require individuals that will hold the guide lines.
- Collectors-are needed to solicit the viewers along the parade route to collect donations.
All volunteers receive an official parade T-shirt and the appreciation of their community for their efforts! You need not change your cook-out plans for the 4th, as the parade usually is over by 1:00 p.m.! If you (or anyone you know) are interested in helping this year, just return the attached form to the address listed and we will get in touch with you with more information. We encourage you to invite family and friends to join you. (Please fill out a separate form for each volunteer) Most importantly, if you volunteer, you must attend the parade, rain or shine, no matter what, as we have no way to replace last minute no-shows, and each volunteer is needed to make the parade complete!
